This policy explains what information may be handled when you visit the site or contact Michael Gerace about Plastics Advisory services.

Who this policy covers

“Plastics Advisory”, “we”, “us” and “our” refer to the consultancy led by Michael Gerace, Principal Consultant. This policy covers the Plastics Advisory website and information handled when you contact us or engage our consulting services.

Information we may handle

Depending on how you interact with us, this may include your name, work email address, company and role, enquiry details, correspondence, and information you provide about products, packaging, suppliers or supply chains. Please avoid sending sensitive personal information or personal information about other people unless it is necessary and you are authorised to provide it. If you do provide it, we will handle it only as needed and as permitted by applicable law.

When the website is hosted online, the hosting server or its security tools may record technical details such as IP address, date and time, requested page, browser or device information, and response status in access or security logs. The exact logs and their retention depend on the hosting configuration.

How information is collected

The contact form runs in your browser and uses your device’s email application to prepare a message addressed to info@plasticsadvisory.com.au. The form does not transmit the details to this website or store them in a website database. The email is sent only if you choose to send it. Your email application and email provider handle the draft and any sent message under their own practices; we do not control those systems. You can also contact us by email or another channel we provide.

The site currently has no account system, analytics or advertising tools. It loads typefaces from Google Fonts, so your browser requests font files from Google. Your browser also connects directly to external websites when you follow reference links. Those providers may receive technical information such as your IP address and apply their own privacy practices.

Why we use information

We use information you send to respond to your enquiry, assess and provide consulting services, coordinate work you request, manage the client relationship, keep appropriate business records, and meet legal obligations. We do not use enquiry details for third-party advertising or sell personal information.

When information may be shared

We may share relevant information with service providers who support our business, such as email, hosting, IT, accounting or professional services, and where disclosure is required or authorised by law. We limit information shared to what is reasonably needed for the relevant purpose.

If you ask us to coordinate with a supplier, manufacturer or factory, we may share relevant business contact details and project information with them. Those recipients may be outside Australia. The countries involved depend on the suppliers and work in your engagement; where practicable, we will identify the relevant countries before sharing personal information with an overseas recipient. We will obtain any required authorisation and take steps required by applicable privacy law before an overseas disclosure.

Storage, security and retention

The website itself does not retain contact-form submissions. If you send us an email, it may be held in our business email account and related business records. Hosting and security logs may be retained separately under the hosting configuration. Information may also be handled by the service providers described above, whose systems and locations can change.

We take reasonable steps appropriate to the circumstances to protect information we hold from misuse, interference, loss and unauthorised access or disclosure. We keep information only for as long as reasonably needed for the purpose it was collected, our business records, or legal requirements, and then take reasonable steps to securely delete or de-identify it when appropriate. No internet transmission or storage method can be guaranteed completely secure.

Access, correction and privacy concerns

You may ask what personal information we hold about you, request access, or ask us to correct it. You may also raise a privacy concern or complaint. Contact Michael Gerace, Principal Consultant, at info@plasticsadvisory.com.au. Please describe your request or concern and include a way for us to respond. We will review it and aim to respond within 30 days; if we need more time, we will let you know.

If you are not satisfied with our response, you may be able to raise the matter with the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner (OAIC).

Australian privacy law

We aim to handle personal information in line with applicable Australian privacy requirements, including the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth) and Australian Privacy Principles where they apply. Coverage can depend on a business’s turnover, activities and other circumstances; some small businesses are exempt while particular exceptions apply. This policy is not a determination of our legal coverage. See the OAIC’s small business privacy guidance.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy as our website, services or information-handling practices change. The current version will be published on this page with its latest update date.
